2025 public-source dataset · 178 markets · MP Age is the equal-weight mean of six normalized factors. Search is provided for small island markets that may be difficult to select on the globe.

01 / The model
Conventional country rankings ask which market is “best.” MP asks a more useful question: what kind of market is this now, and what does its stage imply for entry, growth and risk?
Momentum with unevenness
Fast demand, developing institutions and higher volatility create opportunity, but punish rigid commitments.
Scale with structure
Broader formal demand, improving productivity and more predictable rules support systematic expansion.
Maturity with precision
Slower aggregate growth shifts the advantage toward premium niches, efficiency and customer retention.
A market age is not a value judgement and “older” does not mean “better.” Each stage contains different opportunities, constraints and appropriate commitments.
02 / Methodology
The MP age is built from factors that connect institutional quality, economic capacity, external resilience, fiscal space, labour conditions and domestic finance.
How predictable, governable and socially cohesive the market is under stress.
External standing and the capacity to absorb currency and financial shocks.
The capacity of people, firms and institutions to absorb capital and technology.
Fiscal headroom and exposure to interest-rate or sovereign-financing pressure.
Labour-market slack, cyclical strain and pressure on near-term demand.
The depth of local funding and resilience when external finance tightens.
MP complements—not replaces—country, sector and transaction-level due diligence. Scores are an analytical framework, not live market prices, forecasts or investment recommendations. The original model used 18 indicators; annual datasets from 2023 use 17 following the discontinuation of Ease of Doing Business.
03 / Age history
Select a country to trace its MP Age from 2022 to 2025, identify lifecycle-stage changes and inspect the six factors behind each annual score.
Annual datasets reflect the best public-source observations available for each period and are not perfectly like-for-like. The 2024 reconstruction neutralizes EAF, SPI and QOL where full panels were unavailable; the 2025 reconstruction neutralizes QOL. Interpret small year-to-year movements with appropriate caution.
